“Best seafood and international buffet in Melbourne”
Reviewed May 7, 2013
We dine in on Saturday lunch. Firstly the entrance to the restaurant was unassuming but when we got in it was stepping into a grand palace. High ceilings with a grandeur feel. We had a window table which was nice, didn't think we would get one as there is no guarantee when the booking was made but I guess we were lucky.
The service was good in that all stations of the buffet were explained by wait staff. Management keeping an eye out on rounds ensuring customers were happy. I could't wait to start as the dessert station alone was a stand out. Then the cold section had fresh prawns and oysters, plenty of cold meats. They even had a tandoor in the Indian section making fresh bread. You must try the cheese naan. Amazing.
All in all it was a great experience. Would definitely go back with an empty stomach. Loved it.

“Great selection, my choice vs the Melba!”
Reviewed May 6, 2013
There are 2 big buffet restaurants in close proximity, The Melba at The Langham Hotel and The Conservatory at Crown. I have now been to the Conservatory 3 times, The Melba once. Given the choice I would choose the Conservatory time and time again.
The selection really is incredible and seems to grow every time i visit. I would probably run out of characters if i listed every food available but particular highlights were the carvery, seafood bar and Indian selection including naan bread made to order. Probably the impressive stand though is the dessert bar, boasting an incredible range of cakes, ice creams, chocolate fountains and macaroons. The dessert bar is the main reason The Conservatory stands out for me vs The Melba, there is so much more choice.. just make sure you save room for dessert.
The Conservatory is on the pricey side yes, but for the experience, choice of food and breathtaking views over the Yarra it is certainly worth it in my opinion.

“Best Buffet Breakfast in Melb”
Reviewed April 26, 2013
If you want to experience a luxurious breakfast then Conservatory won't disappoint you. We had the best buffet breakfast their recently. The Conservatory has a great classy but relaxed atmosphere, with great views of the river. The chefs can cook to order, however I found this was not needed given the great variety of food.

“A Must Do whilst in Melbourne”
Reviewed April 16, 2013
The quality and variety of food was world class.
The service was outstanding. True value for money.
My 8yo daughter was treated like a princess and will always remember her first visit to the Conservatory and best foodie experience. In fact, my husband is a chef and we both rate the Conservatory as the best food and service we have ever experienced!

Buffet has a great range of all styles of food, service is very efficient, tables cleared and drinks topped up regularly. Great view from the window, will need to book, worth asking for window area.
