2017 Cherry Blossom Forecast


March 31, 2017 — The cherry blossoms started opening in Tokyo on March 21, five days earlier than average; however, cool temperature have since slowed down their progress. Best viewing is expected to start shortly. In most of the rest of Japan, the blossoms are expected to open close to their average schedule or with a delay. In Kyoto, they were predicted to start opening on March 29, but they have not opened yet.
