Seafood buffet in Sydney with View
Can anyone recommend a good seafood buffet not too over the top in expense with a view in Sydney for overseas visitors?
We used to go to the Summit which was wonderful but doing a search only really brings up Centrepoint which we have only eaten there once a few years ago and was very disappointed
Have to rule out a cruise so any other options in the city?
Thanks

thanks Elleymay
We were thinking more of a buffet because we want to pay and then we would know what we were up for without a huge bill at the end of the night

abbey, have a look at Amore Hotel Jamison in Jamison Street CBD. They are offering a seafood buffet between 11 nov- 25th Nov for 49.00AUD a head.
also look at Cafe Opera - Intercontintal Hotel Macquarie Street. CBD
best to look at their website or ring them for more info...apart from that, I have no more ideas, maybe some other forum members will help out.

we enjoy the buffet at four points by sheraton which is on the city side of darling harbour. there is a good selection of seafood in the buffet. there is an outdoor dining area which is covered by sailcloth. we sat out here a few weeks ago on a sunny day for our lunch. there is a view here of darling harbour but you'd have to walk a few steps to the edge of this area to see it.
i prefer this buffet to the sheraton on the park in elizabeth street which gives you a view of hyde park.

Try the Four Points in Darling Harbour- haven't been there but sounds like it might be a good deal-

Not sure about the Amora but Cafe Opera definitely does not have a view. It's on the first or second floor on the city side of the hotel (depends on where you enter from!). It is inside the old part of the building so it has frosted glass 8 panel windows befitting its heritage. Food is good but as it is all timber inside (only outside option is the mezzanine deck overlooking the foyer and coffe bar which is still inside the buildings Atrium) it can be very noisy.
Most restaurant with the view dont want to attract the bufftet diners because they wont pay the premium the restaurant can charge for the view.

thank you all for your suggestions and ideas
We have never met these visitors before so have no idea on their likes and dislikes, just wanted to show off our beautiful city
My original thought was to go on a ferry ride across to Manly during daylight and return after dark, but the thought of walking around Manly trying to find a nice place to eat has made me have second thoughts, I havent been there since our last lot of visitors from England some 6 years ago
Now I am thinking of a meal in the city with a view, but after reading a number of restaurant reviews, I appreciate that they are going to be very expensive because of their location
I was married at the Summit and love the view from there, so after reading some reports on here, I wonder has anybody been to the Orbit Lounge for a cocktail
We have had a lovely meal at the Marriott Hotel in Alfred St so maybe we could have dinner there and either before or after visit the Orbit Lounge for the view, any ideas
thanks Abbey

I guess it comes down to "the seafood Buffet"....there are some fab restaurants around Sydney with views....without the seafood buffet.
I really like Aqua Luna at Milsons Point above North Sydney pool...the views are gorgeous and food terrific. We always take O/seas guests to Aqua.
G/W - I never said Cafe Opera had a view...just a seafood buffett!
