ferry from naples to sorrento
May 13, 2012, 10:52 PM
We are arriving in August to the Rome airport and plan on taking a train to Naples. A very pleasant suggestion is to take the ferry to Sorrento (our first destination).
My questions:
#1. How would we get from the train station to the ferry dock?
#2. Does Alilauro still have a ferry from Naples to Sorrento, how long a trip and how much does it cost?
#3. There seems to be conflicting accounts on whether the Metro del Mare is still operating. Their website says something about 2012. Is this ferry still operating and does anyone have information on it?
Thank you!

1.
Take the Alibus.... I need to update this page today or tomorrow for a few recent changes, but it's dead easy to use, and only €3
2 and 3.
Yes, 5 or 6 per day. Takes some 40/45 minutes. €11 for adults, plus €2 per suitcase. No saving if buying a return, and don't bother trying to prepurchase -
