My advice, unless you like high end designer shops and crowds, is to go straight up to Anacapri from the harbor, either by the funicular or bus. Take the chairlift to the top of Monte Solaro for breathtaking views. There is souvenir shopping, limoncello tastings, and plenty of places for lunch in Anacapri. If you have time and are energetic you can walk back down to the harbor area via the Fenician Staircase, built by the Greeks in the 8th century BC and the only way down before the current road was built in the late 1800's.
There are lovely, deserted gardens at the outskirts of Capri town that look out over the Fraglione rock formations that Capri is famous for.
People who visit only the main town of Capri are often disappointed so these are a few other options.
