We base ourselves in Sorrento. Lots of beautiful hotels and apartments. Lots to see and do. Some good deals are available too.
Train- Pompeii and Herculaneum- very cheap
Boat- Capri- about 30/35 euros
Boat-Ischia- about 40 euros
Boat to Positano and boat or bus back
Coach tour-Amalfi ,Ravelo and coast. Optional extra boat trip.
Coach trip- Salerno
Sorrento is unique as you can get to all the places from there.

Weather should be gloriously sunny and hot. Locals parade all day long and eat delicious gelato.Best atmosphere.
