A DAY TRIP FROM FLORENCE TO 3 FAMOUS VILLAGES OF TUSCANY ; SIENA, SAN GIMIGNANO AND MONTERIGGIONI INCLUDING WINE TASTING IN THE CHIANTI REGION.
If you are short of time and you are only in Florence for a few days, then this is the perfect tour that allows you to see as much as possible of Tuscany in only a day!
We will depart from Florence at 9:30am which is not too early in the event you wish to sleep a big longer. First stop of the day we'll be San Gimignano, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the most famous walled medieval hill town in Tuscany. Here you will have free time to wander through the narrow and characteristic streets of the village and check out the local shops selling the Tuscan delicacies. The guide will provide you maps and info for a complete experience.
We will continue then towards the Chianti region with its charming scenic views and we will reach an authentical Tuscan farm surrounded by rolling hills, vines and olive groves for wine tasting. Don’t forget to bring your camera…..the scenery is stunning!
After the wine tasting we will head towards Siena but first we will stop briefly in Monteriggioni, the most preserved Medieval town in Tuscany, for some photos.
Our final stop of the day will be in the historic city of Siena where you will be enchanted by the architectural styles of the cathedral and the palazzo communal in Piazza del Campo, the venue of the famous Palio horse race held twice a year in July and August.
